The film depicts and illustrates the tragic story and sacrifices of three civil rights volunteers who have been murdered in the outskirts of Mississippi

Officially released in the year 1988 , the film Mississippi Burning also highlights the controversies and conspiracies about the investigation process made by the Federal Bureau of Investigation or FBI and the kind of violence the advocate of white supremacy group , the Ku Klux Klan ' are employing to oppress and postpone the pursuance of equal rights for Black African American Supremacy (King , 1988

In the said movie , there are two more significant activities that have happened apart from the actual murder case of the three major characters , who are the civil rights volunteers namely James E . Chaney Michael Schwerner , and Andrew Goodman . These activities include the process of investigation done by the FBI in resolving the slay case of the three and the acts of violence by Ku Klux Klan against the Black African American minority group and to all the people who are fighting in to acquire equal human rights for the blacks
