When one thinks about the Military , it is always common to correlate it with guns , ammunitions , wars , casualties and even deaths . Some might say that working in this field is synonymous to walking in mine field where a single error would cost you either you life or your limbs . Others might think of it as a tough job suitable only for those who possess the stomach to endure all the strenuous drills , early morning or late night assembly to drill exercises

and training . I couldn 't agree more , because no one would want to submit oneself to such harsh punishment only to end up working in low paying job when there are other high paying careers out there that could provide me the ease and comforts in life which does not requires any of the above mentioned sacrifices . However , every time I read the news or watch the television , I can not help but think of how temporary these ease and comforts can be if our nation 's security and peace is threatened . When freedom , liberty and peace are at stake no amount of reassurance or news block could ease away fear , pain and suffering . This is one of the reasons why the Military is very important to a nation , as it is the institution that represents peace and fights to ensure that it remains . I could have chosen to become a doctor and cure the sick , or a teacher that educates a generation , but I chose to join the Navy instead because I believe in cause

The 911 attack is a clear example of the premise I would like to present because no other institution could prevent such a horrifying incident to happen again , except for the Military . These are the men and women to who fought valiantly for freedom to make sure that our daily lives continue to function normally and move on . The concerted effort of the Navy , Army , Marines , Air force and so on kept us from enjoying that ease and comfort that we now enjoy otherwise we would have another SOMALIA or SIERRA LEON . As for the integrity of the Military that a few tried to tarnish , I can only say that this institution , like any others , also faces issues relative to diversity because there is that greater percentage of human factor . They are the one who gets the most affected when it comes to war , because they are in the front line where the psychological impact of the events that may have taken place in their lives are set aside in favor of the mission . These people too have emotions and needs and yet they chose to set them aside because they are given the responsibility to fight for their mother land . If they make mistakes by torturing prisoners of wars , let us not jump into a hasty decision and condemn them for their unwarranted anger . There may be a few bad eggs in the...
