Heterosexuals are not the only individuals to be taken into consideration in this discussion but also homosexuals . Gays and lesbians have come to be the center of numerous heated debates . More and more , these individuals have had to fight for their rights to participate in certain activities such as marriage

Sexuality and the various issues regarding gay individuals have not bypassed the United States military . Differing stands regarding homosexuality and whether such individuals should be allowed to participate in certain activities has long been one of the major problems in the country but never has it been more emphasized than with discussions of military participation . Should homosexuals be allowed to participate in the military ? There have been numerous individuals speaking up about the even including personalities such as the former US President Bill Clinton , generals in the US army , and even citizens with strong feelings regarding the matter

This aims to present the effects that homosexuals ' participation would have in the United States military . Through an analysis of these effects , it is hoped that a better understanding will be achieved of why homosexuals , particularly gay individuals , should not be allowed to enter into the US military service .
