Since NAFTA was signed in the Clinton era , the Mexican economy has seen a considerable increase in trade with United States and has been a beneficiary of the agreement . It has helped create jobs in the country , increase exports and grow the economy . Mexico lies in the middle of the western hemisphere and bs the Caribbean Sea , Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean .
