Violence in the Media The conflict surrounding violence in media and it influence on the Youth is one that has prevailed since the dawn of the film era . Today , with the advent of the internet , where adolescence can download the Sadam 's assassination images of the Twin Towers burning , and footage from the Virginia Tech shooting , it is fare to say that the most popular violence perpetuated by the media is no longer fictional , but that which we inflict upon each other . In their study The Influence of Media Violence on Youth , psychological professors from universities all over the United States assess the direct correlation between violence in the media and aggression in the youth . Their research , as shown below , proves to substantially support the view that media violence has a significant influence on the behavior of young people aside from the entertainment experience .Summary-Research on violent television and films , video games , and music reveals unequivocal evidence that media violence increases the likelihood of aggressive and violent behavior in both immediate and long-term contexts .
