Media and Development
What are the main issues in the media coverage of developing countries Were these evident in coverage of the 2003 Iraq war ? Library research on media coverage of the war required : one book or about four articles in scholarly journals The media have a major role to play when it comes to assuring the success or failure to keep developing countries on the world stage However , the major worry is that the world 's dominant media institutions are faced by major competition which tends to exert heavy centrifugal pressure away from developing

countries . Most of the western media focus their attention on the developed world . For example , there is in depth coverage of events occurring in the G8 countries , when compared with other developed countries .
