REALITY IN THE MATRIX

Even before Socrates and Plato , the question of reality has always popped into our minds . What is reality ? Does it exist in our minds only ? Or does it exist outside of our minds and into this world in which we perceive as the reality ? How can we say that something is real ? Is it real because we can see it , touch it , feel it , taste it , or smell it Are the objects inside our minds that are not visible or tangible in

br this world all illusions ? Is existence of something enough for us to say that it is `real

As of the moment I was writing this , my mind was filled with a whole lot of concept about the meaning of reality . I haven 't tackled this very question for a very long time now . And now , that it 's staring right in front of me , it seems that at the back of my mind I know what reality is (or what I perceive to be reality ) but then I stare at this sheet of in front me and I can 't think of anything to write about it , just more and more questions . I ask myself again : What is reality

As I go on contemplating thoughts on reality , I realized much of what I believe of reality is Plato 's idea of reality . In the physical world , much like in Plato 's famous Allegory of the Cave , the only things we consider as real and truth are the interior of the cave or the world as we see it and the shadows flickering in front us . However , these shadows are mere representations of a larger truth . It is a truth but not the whole truth . It is just a part of a larger truth hanging around outside the cave and into the world of ideas . That is , much of what we see is just a representation of something . But we still cannot say that what we see now is not real . It is real but it is only a part of a larger reality that exists beneath what our minds can perceive . Moreover , we cannot possibly know the whole reality .
