This seeks to explore some of the events that have resulted in accommodation of prayers at work . It will also discuss if their exists relationship between the industry and religion at work place . The discussion will end with a case study of implementing the religion at work policy

.13 , 20 ) Religion at work place does not only involve praying but also a number of religious events like giving time off for Muslim prayers who pray five times a day , allowing Muslim or Sikh headscarves , exemption from New Age training schemes for Protestants , allowing religious materials within the company 's premises and offering fish in the canteen on Fridays for Catholics . Some of the major events that have resulted in this spiritual trend include liberal concepts of corporate responsibility throughout the Western world . There is believe that for a business to be successful in its operations welfare of all employees should be highly considered . This concept puts faith in the category of sensitive and crucial employee issues like race and gender . This has resulted employee faith receiving a better share of equal treatment . This can also be looked at on the basis of continuing globalization of business , shifting patterns of immigration , increasing cultural diversity and a renewed spiritual awakening in some segments of the population . The increasing cultural diversity has been due to various groups that were ones considered minority groups rising to compete with groups that once dominated them like majority white Catholics . Studies have also suggested that majority of Americans are more religiously aware than before with most adults affirming that they believe in God . Religion at work place is highly regarded by some managers who believe that religion helps reinforce their business decisions . Religion offers them guidance , solace and direction . These believe is held more strongly among Muslim leaders . Those efficient employees with strong religious believes have had a greater contribution to this trend as employers would rather allow them to practice their religion at work than loose a valuable staff . When employees are allowed to practice their religious observance at work place , they feel motivated and dedicate most of their effort and energy at their work this accommodation therefore gives more benefit to the organization However , some employees can overdo their religion hence eating into an organization 's productive time and consequently low productivity and profits . Increased pressure by employees in their quest for religious freedom at work is also a factor contributing to this phenomenon .
