THREE DAY ORIENTATION /TRAINING SESSION FOR NEW SALESCLERKS OREIENTATION There will be a one-day orientation for new Sales Clerks . The primary purposes of this day are to Make the new Employee feel welcome and emphasize they are a critical part of the team Introduce the Employee to Human Resource requirements , policies , and procedures Introduce the Employee to their job , functions , and co-workers Orientation will begin in the morning , with a break for lunch , and will complete in the afternoon . This is a complete 8 hour day . If the new

br employee is not able to attend a full-day session , this session may be split into two sections , to be completed on two different days
AM SESSION STRUCTURE
Introduction and Welcome - Supervisor , Manager , and HR Department Representative
Be sure to welcome the new Salesperson
Communicate the company 's philosophy that the salesclerks represent our company to the public and they are one of the most important people in our company
Introduce the salesclerk to their immediate supervisor , the department manager , and the human resources representative
Remind the salesclerk that if they have any questions during this time to ask
Human Resource Basics - Conducted by Human Resources Representative

Company Policy Review and Acknowledgement - Performed by Human Resource Representative
Distribute New Employee Handbook . Review the following sections conditions of employment , punctuality , attendance , conduct , hours of work , overtime , and termination
In detail , cover the following company policies as they relate to the Salesclerk position : benefits , salary , job security , insurance , employee activities , breaks and lunches , holidays , vacation , sick leave , leave of absence , and tuition refunds
At completion , have employee sign form stating this information has been given to them and they have fully read and understand the company 's policies
Review the Sexual Harassment section of the employee handbook . Have employee sign form stating they have received , read , and understand this information
LUNCH BREAK
The lunch break is a time for the new employee to informally socialize with their manager , supervisor , human resources representative , and possibly fellow co-workers . The lunch can be either catered in , or the attendees can go to a restaurant for lunch . This is a time to help the new employee feel comfortable and part of a team . Casual conversation is encouraged , as well as allowing the new employee to ask whatever questions they choose
