This fact is illustrated by the steady increase of immigrants in the Western Hemisphere . As a result of that the society of USA may be characterized as a melting pot of all the other cultures of the world regardless of the ethnicity and racial

Diversity would be the perfect word to describe the United States . Yet it is not devoid of the consequences that come hand in hand with the coming together of different sets of distinct individuals . In a way , it can be said that the United States caters to wide range of idiosyncrasies that tend to diffuse the individual nature of each and eventually lead to the birth of a newfound ideology

In this sense , it can be said that this noble principle falls within the realm of the US having superiority over the entirety of the global arena . It is a fact that the reason why so many people would prefer to reside in such place is that they still hold firm to the belief that the United States remains to be the world leader

The end-result of such situation where the United States serves as the basket of an assortment of cultures is a massive diversity that may eventually produce a societal defect concerning cohesiveness issues That is , they may need to prevent social degeneration by enacting policies that would counter-act such rupture of the nation

Primal in this matter is the regard and need for quality education . It is true that the US government becomes responsible to the people within its territory . Of such , under the Parens Patriae Theory , the state would have to provide for the people living under its wing . It would also mean that the US government must ascertain that all the needs of these immigrants are met and are equally provided for in relation to it citizens

It is for this reason that the US government has undertaken it upon herself to assimilate such cultural minorities into the mainstream society by providing for laws addressing such matter . The

1968 Bilingual Education Act enacted by the US legislature is an example of the policies found in the US law . This policy mandates schools in the country to offer equal opportunities for students falling within the minority category . This would entail that the said school must provide for means to address the language difficulty of the concerned students

It is also for the same reason that some states in the United States have adopted bilingual programs called English as a Second Language (ESL .
