Machismo and Marianismo

[Author]

Being a macho ' means a man having a gorgeous body and an irrevocable sex appeal . It means a man who has no emotional sides and possesses a strong personality . Women look forward on seeing someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger or a guy whom you can refer to as the boy next door , like Peter Parker of Spiderman . In some countries , the term is used for a person who practices machismo . Now what is machismo ? Machismo is the act

of showing other people the power of becoming a male . Stephen Art-East mentioned in one of his blogs about a bullfighter who might be exercising machismo , said I liked the mix of a very visceral violence under a hot sun staged in pantomime outfits that parodied our ideas of masculinity . The term calls on what really makes a man and how he should act on various situations of life

On the other hand , there is also the term marianismo for women . This is the opposite of the latter which calls for femininity and was from the idea of the Virgin Mary that says a woman should be living a moral life compared to men and should have a responsibility to maintain their virginity until marriage . It says that women should be respectful at all times and must be a portrait of holiness , for exaggerated definitions

These issues affect lives of men and women such that they are caged on the characters the society has assigned them . Nowadays , in Latin America , the roles of the women are changed that they are engaged on activities which speak their stand in the society . Some of them might not be found on kitchens but on workplaces and rallies . If they will be compared to women of the United States , who works and strives for their living as they were termed to be workaholic , Latin American women go with the trend of becoming independent . However , they maybe a little left out because American society already established women 's independence many years ago but Latin America just acquired it about two decades ago
