The Machinist

The American film , the machinist , stars Trevor Reznik , a factory worker who , at the beginning of our first visit , looked extremely malnourished pale , skinny , and extremely anxious . While evaluating Trevor Reznik 's psychological condition , one thing was made very apparent to me the first time we met , and that was his eating dis . Despite Trevor 's condition , his attitude when in public was acceptable until after he began seeing a figment of his imagination , a friend which he called Ivan . Trevor lives in a lower class apartment complex , and seeks the companionship

of a female who lives next door , and just so happens to be a prostitute . Trevor always goes to the local airport after work , for a cup of coffee and a piece of pie , and a chat with his server Gabriela Apparently , Trevor had claimed that he had not slept in over a year which showed by his physical appearance . Trevor was obviously tormented with something from the beginning of our first meeting , and it was expressed through the activities of his daily life . Trevor works in a machine factory and is not particularly liked by his fellow employees primarily because of the way he rubs ' off on them . My first impression of Trevor as a psychologist , despite his physical appearance was that of a nice guy , with a lot on his mind . Trevor was educated , and had worked at the machine factory fresh in a high school . While observing Trevor 's eating habits , I noticed he ate very little , and what he did eat he later threw up . Trevor was hopelessly confused when it came to his neighbor , a prostitute , who had committed to Trevor telling him that she would stop her life of prostitution if he wanted her to . My own perception , when seeing both Trevor , and his next-door neighbor , was one of two hopelessly lost individuals . Trevor tended to keep many of his thoughts bottled up inside , until they became too much for him to bear and things began to manifest in his physical reality . Trevor began to feel that every one was out to get him , or that some big joke was being played on him . Something continually seemed to be bothering Trevor , something that was causing him to lose sleep , not eat , and suffer from severe attacks of anxiety and depression . As far as any relationships with his family , Trevor never met his father , and was raised by a single mother Trevor 's relationship with his peers was not too good , Trevor tended to be a sort of isolationist , continually locking himself away in his apartment scrubbing his floors with bleach . Trevor 's relationship with the management of his place of employment was not well either . Trevor 's manager was beginning to worry that something was wrong with Trevor seeing him lose weight , day by day . Trevor 's employer asked for a...
