Politics within the organization are an inescapable yet an essential aspect when it comes to management . Organizational politics creates a democratic and non-coercive environment in the workplace . On the other hand , organizational politics could bring detrimental effects to the company if not well handled . Dr . Marilyn Kennedy analyzes the evolving organizational politics in health care and proposes new leadership rules to

address these changes . In this article , leadership is emphasized rather than management within the organization and autonomy and democracy are said to play an important role in managing politics . It is not only in the health industry however that changes have been witnessed . A twist of functions and development within the organizations has led to a new light in organizational politics . The organization has highly evolved as a political system . Employees know their rights than before and they are more inclined towards a modern way of leadership This will focus on organizational leadership in relation to politics within the organization . As a case study , Continental Airlines one of the leading airlines in the world will be used . Comparison with Dr . Kennedy 's will show its applicability in the Continental Airlines context
