1 THE LIFE OF JOSEPH THE DREAMER I . INTRODUCTION Of the long list of Bible heroes , Joseph , the son of Jacob , is probably one of the well-known and favorite . Along with Abraham , Isaac , Jacob and the prophets , Joseph , also known as The Dreamer has remained one of the most remembered Bible characters of the Christian Community . Through him , God have made the worst situations work together for the benefit of the people of Israel . Because Joseph has humbled himself , God continued to uplift his spirit . Because he remained faithful , God continued

to guide Joseph . Because he continued to share and loved other people , God continued to bless him . And because he has maintained an open and clean heart , God work through Joseph 's life to reveal His power , love and mercy to the people of Israel
The account of Joseph as a simple seventeen year old shepherd , to his sufferings in the land of Egypt , to his reign as governor , is found in the book of Genesis of the Holy Bible . In this , we will analyze how the major events in his life will serve as an inspiration and challenge for all Christians today . The focuses on the characteristics he has exhibited and what we can learn from these . We will also look into how each dream he has interpreted has revealed God 's will in his life
II . JOSEPH AND HIS FAMILY IN THE LAND OF CANAAN
Being the son of 1his old age to Rachel , Jacob loved Joseph so much His attention was more focused on Joseph . And being a good son , he has gained his father 's love which made his brothers envy him . He once dreamed that he and his brethren were binding sheaves in the field . His sheaf rose and stood upright and his brothers ' sheaves bowed down to his 1 Genesis 37 :2

sheaf (Genesis 37 :6-7 . And he yet dreamed of another dream and told his brethren and said , behold I have dreamed a dream more and behold the sun and the moon the eleven stars made obeisance to me (Genesis 37 :9 These dreams made his brothers exceedingly angry and envious because of the obvious interpretation of the dream that he will after sometime rule over them . Despite this , Joseph remained an obedient son to his father and a good and humble brother to his brethren . Until one day , his brothers planned to kill him but came to a decision to just sell him to the merchants for 200 pieces of silver . In this scenario , God revealed His love for Joseph because of his clean heart . God did not let him die because his dreams have to come true . Although Joseph has to experience pain and sufferings from his own brothers , God has revealed His will in the dreamer 's life-he has to be God 's instrument in carrying out His plan for His beloved nation
