The purpose of this letter is to put forth my personal recommendation for Dr . Peter Lindsay . I believe that most teachers become what they are because they have a desire to impact the lives of the people they teach , to bring life to that seed of curiosity which will eventually bloom into the tree of wisdom . Dr . Peter Lindsay has planted that seed in my heart as each day dawns , the seed grows , greedily stretching toward the sun

I was a student of Dr . Lindsay 's from

the spring of 2004 to the fall of 2004 . The first thing that drew me to him was his exceptional style of teaching . He does not drone on from tired pages , ignoring the human experience in favor of dry and repetitive history . Instead , he brings life into his teachings , relating the learned facts to modern day , to our lives and our experiences . Dr . Lindsay strives to make a connection with his students , and with that connection , draw them into his world of learning

Dr . Lindsay is positive and upbeat , but at the same time exacting and concise . He demands the best of each of his students by coaxing each student 's self-motivation to the surface . It is easy to tell that teaching is not just a job to Dr . Lindsay it is a way of life

I have become a critical thinker since being in Dr . Lindsay 's class . I know how to question what I see and assimilate the information I need I am better able to discern the truth , and apply that truth to my life because of what he has taught me . I feel I have come out of his class a wiser , more self-assured individual . I feel I walk a little taller and my step is a bit firmer for having known him

I cannot say enough about Dr . Lindsay . He is truly a teacher he makes his students want to learn . I do not believe there are many people with that particular gift . A gift is what Dr . Lindsay would be to your program , to be sure

Until I met Dr . Lindsay , the seed of learning lay dormant and cold in my mind . He brought that seed to life , brought fertile ground and sun and rain . I know there are others from whom he could illicit that same response . You would be blessed to have him
