Legalizing prostitution
(Budapest Group , 1999 :11 Decriminalization of prostitution activities enhances illegal and back street prostitution activities this is due to the fact that most women are not willing to register and go though adequate health checks as is expected in most countries therefore , legalization encourages them to be involved in streets prostitution since they avoid being under government controlled systems and exploitation by pimps Allowing the sex industry to thrive rampantly increases child prostitution cases this is evident in Netherlands where child prostitution increased exponentially during the 1990s .A research conducted

by an Amsterdam based child right organization estimated that the number of children involved in prostitution activities grew from 4 ,000 in 1996 to 15 ,000 in 2001 . The group also approximated that 5 ,000 of the children involved in prostitution activities were from other countries like Nigeria (Tiggeloven : 2001
Legitimizing prostitution also seems to increase the demand for traded sex
It usually motivates the participants to buy the service in a wide range of socially acceptable manner . Thus , increases the number of prostitution activities
`Legal prostitution ' as it is argued , does not promote the victim 's health but seems to even put him /her in a more dangerous situation , this is because monitoring prostitutes alone does not offer protection against contracting HIV /AIDS and other STD 'S since their clients can and do transmit the disease (s ) to other participants
Lastly but not least , prostitutes have no desire for the sex industry to be legalized or decriminalized . Women interviewed strongly emphasized that prostitution should neither be legalized nor considered as a form of legitimate work , stating that legalization would lead to more risks and harm subjected to the prostitutes from customer and pimps (Raymond et al , 2002
Conclusion
Legalizing or not legalizing remains an issue to be debated thoroughly...
