The Federal government was organized in to provide public services . Maintenance of peace , and safety are just some of the responsibility of the federal government to the citizens which its purpose is to serve . Although they are given power to perform these tasks , of course everything must be put into regulation through assigning some limitations

The

range of responsibilities of the Federal government covers many national concerns . The organization is entrusted with the lives of the people and the country 's resources . Many new threats emerged because of the improving tactics of the offenders to commence hostilities such as school shootings , bombings , protests and riots , and terrorism . It is expected of the federal government to speak for the security needs of the people , with recommendations to the national government for the improvement of services (PSWN , 2008

Security category involves Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (Bureau of Labor Statistics , 2008-09 . The Homeland Security is a branch of the Federal Government that widens connections with non-government computer systems , which it no covers the overall information structure of the nation . This requires certain information that these computer systems hold for them to be protected against unauthorized transactions . This only includes financial and medical information . With these non-government entities having power for their own regulatory standards , the Secretary of Health and Human Services can enforce regulations to have standardizations among other regulatory agencies (Moteff , 2004 . The Federal Government is the single largest employer for security services , for the purpose of protecting information regarding national security . Other agencies include the National Security Agency , National Imagery and Mapping Agency , Central Intelligence Agency , and the Defense Intelligence Agency . The Federal Government also secures their employees by making sure that their procedures avoid racial discrimination , color , national origin disability , age , and sex . These are the factors that must not be regulated in choosing individuals who will be in charged in security purposes . Efforts on the diversity of their employees in to suit the assortment of the community and the civilian labor force are also one of their directions . Proper screening for qualification for Federal jobs is one of their roles , with them deciding on investigative methods and training procedures which will suit the needs of the nation (Bureau of Labor Statistics , 2008-09

Almost all areas of responsibility are covered on the legislation of the Federal Government , so thinking of other areas would be difficult Moteff (2004 ) includes in the programs list are protective measures for their consumers , health care systems , investigation and prosecution of computer crimes in the federal area , assistance for the state and local law enforcement units in their actions , and improvement of information security expertise of the nation ad many more to mention
