Leadership Styles Abstract Various styles of leadership are usually found in all the areas of the society that require the direction of knowledgeable persons and similarly the loyalty of the followers or the subjects . For the purposes of creation of influence and performance , leaders have to adopt measures that will ensure that this mission is accomplished , and that various other goals are attained . Leaders may choose to use any of the three leadership styles which include : authoritarian , democratic or laisez faire styles . Depending on the style applied , consequences are reflected

in the output of performance if in an employee-employer relationship and in the degree of satisfaction of the subjects reflected in peaceful existence or uprisings in cases of national leadership . The best results are often acquired when all the three styles are used in different circumstances that may call for application of any of them . This implies that various decisions have to be made before the leaders can choose on the best style they feel will work in their circumstances . The decisions finally made by the leaders may not necessarily be favourable to the people under them who may choose to react in different ways e .g rebelling against the system , withdrawing from the dictates of the leadership or even submitting without raising questions
