This leader had a vision and had a plan on how to make it happen . He affected his people so they would see the world through his eyes and function for the attainment of a goal . To make them work for the realization of this goal , he has to work on his people 's morale . Morale has been defined in so many ways in different settings

. But basically , morale entails mental conditioning of every member of the organization . This condition is at a level where they are most confident and enthusiastic to accomplish the goal that is shared by the organization . Morale is significant in ensuring the organization is moving forward as one . In maintaining the morale of the group , people look up to a leader as their source of drive and inspiration to perform to the best of their abilities . If a leader fails to uphold the morale of his comrades , it leads to the failure of the accomplishment of their goals and the failure of the organization as a whole . Even in this modern time we are living in , morale is a pressing issue in every setting that needs to be recognized and addressed . It should also be recognized by the leader that morale is also a result of his leadership

History tells us that the study of human organizations and leadership is quite young . In fact , even if during the time of the Ancient Greeks and way before that , there had already been a good number of individuals leading nations and groups of people , no serious study of human organizations and leadership was done . It is ironic because many of these societies and their leaders thrived in prosperity while the subordinates died early and in poverty . The first scientific study of human organizations and leadership did not begin until many , many centuries later during the 1900 's with the study of L .M . Terman . In 1904 , he published The Psychology of Leadership ' Prior to him , only anecdotes from historians like Xenophon or Machiavelli made direct references to leadership issues
