Leadership Model: Future Health Care Systems
Introduction In the 21st century there is a high demand to formulate new leadership models that will entail the concept of delegation and participatory leadership and do away with the old despotic model of leadership . As the complexity of health care delivery increases coupled with the increase in the new skilled personnel , it means leaders have to converse in an atmosphere where achieving organization objectives is a collective responsibility . The setting of health care organization will in the future grow to be more decentralized , which will promote flexibility proactivity , and sovereignty

(Bennis et al , 2001 . The 21st century health care organization would be that which requires leaders to move from imperial roles to shared leadership networks that would most likely adjust the organization foundations . The need for decentralized leadership or leaders shifting roles to teams continues to be on the rise . Therefore health care organizations have to cultivate the development and empowerment of people , build team work and share leadership on all levels . This means that leaders will provide guidance soliciting inputs and sharing information . The era when people are told what should be done and how it should done would be a forgone thing (Bennis 2001 . In the 21st century the dynamics of health care should provide leaders with the ability to inspire and permit others a platform to capitalize on an organization human resource . Leadership has to be devoted to promoting two-way communication where the vision should meet both the objectives of the organization and employee 's needs . The reliance on each individual in an organization to share responsibility implies that the there would be mutual interests of each person in the organization which would be in line with the overall success of the system . It has to be recognized that health care is offered at the local level and that it requires strong relationship among the general practitioner , the community , the employees and the competitors . This assignment will build up a leadership model for the 21st century which will address the role of obligation model of collective and participatory leadership in the health care organization
