Barbara Kellerman in his article entitled Leaders and Followers had tried to argue the importance of interdependence between leaders and followers . In an example that she gave , many leaders in both politics and business had suffered because of the lack of interdependence in working and sharing with their followers . Though this point is much more general than what Kellerman had provided in her article , her use of leaders living in fantasy land , consciously deprived their selves with bitter yet realistic facts

and situations are doomed to be shocked with misfortunes as what happened in Saddam Hussein and Kenneth Lay . All of this happened in the blink of an eye when they realized that their followers are feeding them the wrong information and the damage of the lack of realistic and accurate information had able to spell doom in their vocabulary

In this sense , Kellerman implies that a good leader is the one who are able to chew up bitter and realistic situations of his or her domain . On the other hand , a good follower is the one who can stand up and tell to his leader the real situation of the work place no matter how harsh it may sound with all his or her respect and courage . These two kinds of people spell success and innovation in any social , political or business setting
