Prison life can prove to be hard if the correctional facility uses correctional means which are torturous . Prisons are institutions where criminals or those who have gone against the law are kept . They are meant to bring an individual to positive life at the end of their sentence and be able to contribute positively to the community . However this has not been the case in these institutions .
