Gender discrimination is using an individual 's sex to unfairly treat him /her by using it as a determining factor for promotion , hiring and offering other employment benefits . In most instances , it is women who are faced with this challenge although there has been few cases involving male employees or jobseekers . This paper is going to look into gender discrimination and its effects in the work place

discrimination is one of the problems that bother me at my place of work . This is because of the effects it has on our overall performance and the stressful conditions that it creates to both of us It not only affects me as an individual but also other workers because of the demonizing feeling it creates in us when witnessing our colleagues being discriminated against . I do not support this kind of practice in the work place because it is a big set back to professional growth of both the workers and the company . This kind of practice I believe does not offer much benefit to anybody and should be done away with

Despite the efforts that are being made to ensure that there is no gender discrimination at the work place , it still exists . Women have continued to be discriminated upon regardless of their efficiency to succeed which has been recognized the world over .
