Where is the line drawn between a juvenile and an adult

My definition of a juvenile would be anyone who is not of age to make his /her own responsible decisions . It is therefore anyone who is not mature enough to be entrusted with the decision making process Sometimes however , juveniles just choose to be irresponsible and make decisions that affect the society negatively and thus have a negative impact on the society . They are however too young to be tried as

adults and are therefore tried in the juvenile courts . The juvenile court was established in 1890 to address the issue of what happens to a minor who has committed a crime (Feld , B . C .66-70

The age in which one is tried as an adult offender varies from state to state . There are states where the age is 16 while in other states it is 17 . The point however is that for whatever crime committed , people must face the law . An exception is however made in some cases such as homicide or sexual assault . In these instances , one will be tried in an adult court regardless of the age (Judy , L . 50-53
