In the increasing debate of child criminals and the relation of this to media violence and its translation into real world violence , the child 's proneness towards recidivism , therefore exists within the concept of television or media violence . In point of fact the entire issue of juvenile delinquency hinges upon the fact of their exposure or overexposure to media violence and their applicability of this violence into the real world . The ability of the offender to re-enter society not as a criminal but as a redemptive individual ready to become a working

part of society may be only possible through the lessening of violence shown in the media . In the questions that arise from the concern over juvenile delinquency the recurring query is this : Are children who commit crimes influenced in criminal behavior through television , or are they more likely to commit criminal acts because of psychology and sociology ? In the answering of this fundamental question , aspects of the child criminal are brought to the forefront of the debate , and these include , the relationship of aggressive behavior through television viewing (Violence and Media 30 , and the `psychology dealing with television and society (Violence and Media 30 . Also , the connection the juvenile has with school and community becomes prevalent when after school programs are a deterrent to crime

In view of delinquent behavior there must be a definition and applicable theory to first aid in deciding what causes such conduct as it is seen through the advocacy of television . As Violence and Media state , four different television companies conducted their own tests of which the result stated that , .no evidence that violence on television causes aggressive behavior on viewers ' Violence and Media 35 . Although the biases of these studies are quite clear in that their initiation was conducted on part by a committee team whose future hinged upon violence on television not advocating violence in society . Although this focuses more on the amount of violence by which children are exposed and reproduce that by no means suggests that such violent acts are limited by age . In fact , violence on television , both socially and psychologically can be attributed to any age demographic . Also these studies conducted by such companies as NBC and CBS did not consider other factors in their variables . CBS researchers conducted an eight year study on a group of 1 ,500 young English men . The cultural differences of violence are staggering (Media Violence and Aggressive Behavior 21 . ABC stated that television violence was a matter that does not need to be issued any concern (Violence and Media 35 Furthermore NBC 's study suggested that aggressive behavior in teenagers and children were correlated but the study was later re-examined and this evidence in numbers was said to be insignificant (Violence and Media 35 . In Hirschi 's book Causes of Delinquency (2002 ) there are presented three different theory types in regards to delinquent behavior .
