What Justice Means to Me
Running Head : PERSONAL DEFINITION OF JUSTICE Justice Name of Student Name of School Name of Professor Subject I have often wondered what it would be like to be a Juvenile Probation Officer . I have wondered about the kind of life that they go through Thinking about the adventures they would experience each day made me giddy in anticipation . Earlier in my childhood , I have thought that when I grow older , I will be given to choose which avenue I should explore and I decided that being a Juvenile Probation

Officer is my likely choice
Courts are being filled with cases of juvenile activities . Each year there seems to be a growth of number . Declines seem insignificant as we face a time of changes and challenges . I see people getting desperate for a means of survival for each day . I also know that desperation can lead one to act upon instinct , without much thought of the consequences I have seen these people , and I do not find the justice promised by many people in office
But what is justice ? I do not think it is a mere balance between an event and its consequence . I believe justice goes beyond that . It is not just a reaction to what was , but also an action to what will be
Along with desperate individuals are people who fall victim to their anxiety . They are also in need of justice , prior to the rise of crimes and juvenile activities . They need the protection that is due them . It is making them believe that there are people who will continue to protect them as promised
To have the perspective of justice should start within one 's self . It is not just about under the table transactions . It is all about action against such activities . It is not for self satisfaction , but an oath to protect others
Justice is not just paying back what was taken . It is also about providing preventive measures . I find the system most lacking when it can only provide solutions to the problems . Justice cannot be simply equated to balance . This is because balance cannot be achieved completely . Cases are not solved cleanly
With this , it is important that these cases should be prevented so that the individuals will no longer need to try to fight for integrity Justice would have been served before it is even contested
There are a lot of hopeful faces . After the deeds are done , regret follows , and the cry for equality becomes a muffled search for the truth . Then they become helpless , thinking that nothing would come out of their fights anyway . That should change
I believe that justice is about rekindling hope . It is about replacing the fear and sorrow one feels with an assurance of security . As a juvenile probation officer , I believe I would be able to provide the kind of justice they would have wanted a long time ago . Security trust , and equality are the important ideas I should carry with me...
