Representation of `love ' in John Donne 's sonnets `The flea ' and `A Valediction :Forbidding Mourning ' and Shakespeare 's sonnets `Let me not to the marriage of true minds ' and `My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun

Sonnets were written with a kind of passion and that was the forte of both Donne and Shakespeare . Both these poets were marvellous in making a metaphorical representation of love through sex , time , memory and all those thongs that makes love a matter of passion , expression and metaphysical in all respect

In the sonnets

`The flea , `A Valediction :Forbidding Mourning , Donne expressed his love as eternal and metaphysical . As the flea sucks the blood of both the poet and his beloved , it gets the metaphysical union in its body . In case of `A Valediction :Forbidding Mourning , the poet gives the metaphorical example of the compass , that says that no matter where he goes he will come back to the centre . The poet makes a very strong point by representing his love through the souls . The essence of sex and time are beyond all kinds of restrictions . As he loves his beloved , he is sure of the fact that he will have the union with her through all possible means

Shakespeare way of dealing with the same theme is more timeless . In `Let me not to the marriage of true minds , he is a typical lover who has made his love immortal through black ink and declares that his love is beyond every worldly...
