Organizations adopt different strategies used to manage the resources whether human or not . These strategies have always to be influenced by the employees who are the core resource of the organization (Mathis and Jackson , 2006 . An example is an organization with a knowledge based strategy . In finding out the capabilities of the organization in terms of knowledge , the human resource manager has to consider the employees since it is them to gain the knowledge , to be trained and to make use of the knowledge that they have been given (McCourt et al , 2003
Another example is in determining the how an organization performs . A human resource manager should be able to identify what can make the organization perform to the required standards . Whoever makes the performance of the organization be good is always the employee , if the human resource manager knows what skill in the employee to use , how to utilize it for the benefit of the company and how to treat employee (Mathis and Jackson , 2006 . The major concern in organizational management therefore , is the human resource manager and the employees
The employees are the people to perform the jobs and the human resource manager is the party responsible for ensuring that the right person is assigned the right job . This calls for the process of job analysis Job analysis is the identification and assessment of the requirements of a job (McCourt et al , 2003 . Different organizations have different aims and different functions therefore will have different job analysis procedures
An information technology firm for example will not have the same kind of job analysis as a chemical company . These two companies have different staff requirements since they perform different functions The chemical company will require people with skills on chemical handling under different working environments for example chemical laboratories , while the information technology company will require workers with skills on information technology with information technology machines
