A Critical Comparison of Two Lives : Jesus and Mohammad Two of the most unique and controversial historical accounts that have prevailed throughout history focus on the lives of two prophets Christianity 's Jesus Christ and Islam 's Mohammad . In a historical context it is difficult to imagine any other biographical account as having more of an impact than these two individuals , as they lived a life where they were persecuted for their beliefs and following their deaths their legacy has continued to have a significant impact on many individuals today Christian

history offers a very colorful account of the life of Jesus Christ , which is documented in the New Testament of the Holy Bible . The story begins with the extraordinary circumstances surrounding his birth into the Jewish Community . Though controversial the New Testament gospels reveal that Jesus was conceived during an encounter that took place between his mother Mary and the Holy Spirit Mary was then promised to Joseph , a carpenter , who immediately became skeptical of Mary 's bizarre story of conception . He believed Mary 's interaction with the Holy Spirit to be a mere cover up to her act of deception , as the idea of a virgin birth was impossible to fathom Joseph 's life was soon altered when he had his own encounter with the Holy Spirit who revealed to him that Mary had been chosen to give birth to the Messiah and as a result Joseph accepts the validity of Mary 's story . The central theme surrounding most of Jesus ' life is Salvation as the Messiah he was sent to the world to deliver the people from sin The story speaks of Jesus gathering a following of disciples , whose purpose was to help him spread the word of God...
