Islam is one of the most popular ancient fundamental religions of the world . It is a monotheistic religion which appeared in the seventh century in Eastern Arabia (Hijaz . Mohammad (570-632 ) from Mecca is supposed to be the founder of this religion , and the main dogma of his teachings was faith in Allah as the only God , Mohammad himself as His prophet , His angels , revelations , and the Judgment Day . The central script of Islam is the Qur 'an , which is believed to be based on the words of God given to Mohammad . The Qur 'an has 114 chapters (sura , which contain historical s , as well as some morals and rules of personal ethics and social conduct . Islamic law (sharia ) is mostly based on the Qur 'an and covers various aspects of daily life from political matters to the issues of personal hygiene . It includes the calls for being good and honest , honoring the parents , being merciful and generous , forgiving the enemies , etc

The essence of traditional Islamic religion is to strive after ideal things in life . According to the texts of Qur 'an , everyone must live in piece with himself and the surrounding , everyone is equal and has chances for salvation , everyone must be educated , disciplined , just modest , generous , and live in chastity . Unfortunately , modern radical branches of Islam developed wrong interpretation of several core principles of this religion and seriously damaged the world 's imagination about it
