INTERNATIONAL POLITICS 2007 After the `defeat ' of Iraq by the combined troops of many world nations led by U .S , attempts are being made to bring peace so that the country should come back to normal and economy develop . `Baath ' party which ruled Iraq for decades was crushed , Sadaam Hussain , the defacto leader along with his protygy cabinet ministers were hanged , proper elections were held and Parliament Govt . started functioning . Since the country was ruled by Sunnis , a minority , and many times by illegal means , it was not tolerated by majority

Shias . General elections were held in Iraq under U .N supervision Parliament government was formed , Shias got the majority , and proper government started functioning
Though the govt . started functioning , normal peace is still far away . A clash is continuously going on between the prominent communities . A number of new militant groups have cropped up functioning under various names , each claiming responsibility for a particular blast /murder . Al Qaeda group is taking the leading part as per their claim . There are daily blasts , murders , car bombings by militants and in retaliation military is destroying buildings where militants used to manufacture and store explosives and also detecting bomb making facilities . This type of unrest is prolonging for a pretty long time and the public desire that there should be an early end so that peace should prevail
Troops from different countries stationed there are doing an excellent job to bring peace sacrificing their own lives . The world body is divided as to how to tackle the problem . Some nations desire that there should be a complete pull-out of troops and it may be left to Iraq as to how they tackle the problem . The second opinion is for gradual and slow pull out , watch and see how the govt . functions
As on today things are gradually becoming normal day by day but in a slow motion . People have accepted that peace is the only solution and all should live in a brotherly relation . Parliamentary system should blossom , economy should develop , and one day IRAQ may become the highest oil producing country of the world
