In this age of information and communication , this limitations are slowly breaking away to make room for a new and better progress not only in some countries but to all countries in the globe . Its objective is to create a healthy and positive competition , as well as an environment that promotes development that will be beneficial to all who are involved . To make this possible , a global community is established , wherein each participant has freedom to

move regardless of the space

Definitions have also been altered in this age . Space is no longer bound by physical manifestation . Space expands through internet connection . A distance of half a world ?s away can be bridge by just a dial of numbers , or a set of wires away . The impossible is already becoming possible by the progress of transportation and communication into a faster s speed . Globalization means progress

History tells us that in the past , the important objective of a

government or a country is to expand its boundaries . Each country has an

agenda of its own . Competition is a dirty sport that results to thousands of

soldiers and innocents dying for the sake of pride and honour of the country

According to Olsen in The Logic of Collective Action , individuals with self-interest would not take the initiative to work towards common interest unless they see themselves having incentives that non-participants do not have . This may be appropriate in some situations but it is not so with the global problem of Climate Change we are facing

Theories have been studied and explored to solve the challenges encountered in Collective action . There is the Game Theory that has an outcome that is better if they cooperate rather than working on their own . Important insights have been discovered in the light of games used for the study . There is the changes in the structure with the incentives that can attract cooperation . Then there is the understanding that reciprocity can play a vital role especially in the strategy of conditional cooperation in which when the others contribute more , the more they will also contribute . Increase in the frequency of contact and transparency can build and establish cooperation . Renegotiation of rules at important stages can also play an important role especially when there is a breach in cooperation . And lastly , in influencing outcomes reputation plays a significant role . This game theory is used to design a framework that will promote international collective action on the issue of climate change

There is also the discussion on the protocols and different summits being discussed in the readings that gives us a background of what has already been done in the situation of global warming as well as give us examples of theories being applied to promote the collective action .
