Introduction

Understanding cultures , values and belief systems are some of the crucial variables which any organization willing to invest into foreign country must take into account before making proposed investment . Though such understanding would provide a better insight into the specific characteristics of the target customers but it is also critical to note that such understanding may further lead to better position oneself against the domestic competition in target

China is the most growing countries in the world offering unprecedented investment opportunities to most of international investors including Canadians . Through this letter , I like to take the opportunity for introducing low and high context culture of Hong Kong so that the better understanding of the cultural aspects of the city can be well understood for contemplating any future investment opportunities

Low-and High Context Culture

While contemplating to operate into Hong Kong what encounters is the difficulty and complexity of the Chinese language . Chinese culture whether it is prevalent into Hong Kong or China itself comprises of different languages which are interconnected with each other however therefore one may encounter a slightly different dialect in Hong Kong than in China . Like China , Hong Kong is based on the high culture context as managers involved in operating the business seem to rely most on creating long term relationships and understand each other 's values and beliefs without explicitly expressing them .
