Intelligence is usually tested through a series of Intelligence quotient test which vary depending on the institution or educational

background of the person
Intelligence could also be taken as an aptitude or the ability to learn something . Often times it is also referred to as the level of understanding of the person or an animal . It could also be defined as a person 's cleverness or the capability to think quickly and to adapt from one situation to another . Intelligence taken as the level of understanding should be seen as competence or the ability to learn and acquire information for use and reuse in the future as oppose to stupidity and ignorance
Intelligence in this sense does not refer on the agency or the group of people who gather information to use against and for control and management over other people and important events . Although intelligence is also used in such data gathering , it is important to note that intelligence in this sense is used as an idiom to intensify and shorten the purpose of `intelligence and counter-intelligence gathering agencies . It is also different from wisdom which is a capability to use intelligence in a manner that gives insight or good judgment . Intelligence should also not be classified as creativity because creativeness is another ability that requires passion and emotion more than strict rational understanding
As mentioned above , intelligence when used in government or economics context is used differently from what it usually means . With this in mind , the use of intelligence in different context such as social gender , education and ethnicity might also differ . Intelligence in social context might be taken as the ability to understand social behavior and to act appropriately by displaying proper breeding and displaying suitable conduct . Intelligence in a gender based context might mean the difference between a man and a woman 's ability to think with man being more analytical and woman being emotional . In education intelligence is mostly taken or measured through aptitude and being flexible . Having multiple knowledge on several aspects , courses or subjects can be the primary meaning of intelligence in this area , the ability to multi-task . With respect to ethnicity , intelligence can be measured as the ability of the whole society to use modern like technology and act in a highly scientific and analytic manner
