Integration of Diversity The current trend among businesses is the integration of diversity which means that companies are looking at a diverse workforce in a different level . Many companies with high turnover rates found that the reason for this is management 's failure to take care of its workforce Through application of diversity initiatives , a company can attract and retain the most suitable candidates . For example , Microsoft was previously a male-dominated company . Women were seldom part of any Microsoft division . However , Microsoft found out that with the changing market environment , it

now needs women to take care of interactive media . This means that Microsoft has integrated diversity by employing more women
Integration of diversity has affected how companies are approaching organizational changes and training programs . Management has started to look at diversity programs as a form of investment with long-term results . Previously , companies did not believe in spending resources on diversity programs but when absenteeism and turnover are high particularly among women and black employees , it became apparent that diversity has to be properly managed in to save a lot of money from continually training new employees
With more focus and better management of diversity in the workplace organizations tend to present a more positive environment for employees This could up a company 's chance of hiring and retaining the most qualified persons for the job without regard for his gender , ethnicity or social and cultural orientation
Recognizing diversity in the workplace is not difficult when management truly cares for its employees . An employer that keeps an open mind and based a person 's value based on his contribution and productivity instead of other factors will easily recognize what needs to be done to manage workplace diversity . One diversity approach that works was implemented by Maybelline when it employed minorities to market its cosmetics line for women of darker colors
