p Running heading : THE VIOLIN Instruments Research : The Violin Name 18th November 2010 The violin is a stringed instrument that first originated in the north of Italy around 16th century specifically in an area known as Brescia This area is documented to have had an incredible learning place for players and those who made the string instruments . Around 1530 the name violin could be found in Brescian documents and it spread from then on all over the north of the country . Several of the first instruments that had a few

representations in paintings , had three strings . It 's highly likely that the first manufacturers of the violin had borrowed the idea from some modern string instruments from Arabia and Europe which had been in use since the 10th century
There are several individuals who have mastered the art of playing the violin with such ingenuity making them famous world over . One of the most celebrated violin player of all time was Yehudi Menuhin (1916-1999 .when he was only seven years he earned world fame when he played Spanish symphony . Other excellent and famous performers were Nicolo Paganini and Ignaz Schuppanzig . Paganini (1782-1840 ) was famous for his very unique technique and his personality warmed into his audience . Ignaz (1776-1830 ) was famed for having one of the finest violin playing quartet in Europe . Since the times of these famous performers many other talented performers have come up in recent times to make their mark on the charts of famous violin players
