With the increasing number of diversifying classrooms , principals have shifted their responsibilities to mere administrative work towards increased participation in management and ensuring the welfare of the whole student body is achieved . Due to this , there is a need to rethink the leadership style that leaders apply in the school environment Instructional leadership is one alternative and tools to consider in enhancing the effectiveness of school policies and programs . An instructional leader must understand that the material given to students is not the focal point of improvement . To make this initiative into a reality , principals must also take into consideration factors that contribute to impediments and success of every program . In instructional leadership , there are several dynamics that continue to shape student learning . These include (1 ) goal setting for schools (2 ) availability of resources , and (3 ) efficient communication

The first one involves setting up goals for the school among its faculty and students . Instructional leaders must see to it that all these objectives are in-line with the mission statement of the educational institution . For any organization /institution to be effective there must be a clear set of purposes that is deemed towards expecting something out of everyone and also to the school as well (Chell , 1999

Without the sufficient amount of resources for students , only limited outcomes can be extracted which could spell unsuccessful management on the part of the principal . Due to this , instructional leaders must continuously monitor the proliferation of resources needed by students to be competitive around their counterparts .
