Jencos desires to aim at selling over the internet and wishes to capture the competition for better catering their products to a large customer radius in UK . Their strengths are excellent customer relations which they have gathered over the years and they possess enough power and will to compete with the market forces and strengthen their position over the internet
Problems with their present information system
Jencos employs several stand alone information systems but fails at their effort to generate enough interaction across the systems to perform and synchronization of the various business objectives
The current system does not envelope the entire business operations meaning no Enterprise Resource Planning Systems it simply caters to the needful purposes
The system does not capture enough data about customer 's to retain them or get new ones . Their Customer Relationship Management is quite poor
Their current system neither possesses automatic links for replenishment of their stock nor any integrated suite of office software programs
They do not have any Management Information Systems Need to conduct E-business
Jencos management truly believes that it needs to harness the power and capabilities of the internet so that they are able to capture business processes and render to global demands so that it to only sell its products but also spread the name to every single individual . Growth and prosperity for the products and services can be taken to a new higher level with the use of internet technologies
The variety of reasons for adapting into `click and mortars ' can be attributed as under
Making them known to the vast world so that one is aware of their existence is quite essential so that it can play fair competition with other players in the market . Once it creates a visibility it would be quite easy to pull traffic to the site
