A child wakes up in the morning , dreams of a perfect start . The wind in his hair , the sun shinning so bright , the birds singing songs of joy

the long green grass and the beautiful flowers all sway at the same time . The green grass , the colorful flowers , the yellow sun , the blue sky , the sea blue river , the brown bark , the white clouds , the grey dolphins and grey smoke which is coming out of every chimney of the town . This is all yet part of a dream . Such dreams only become reality in fairy tales , a land where all dreams come true , where every story has a happy ending . The real world is very different from the stories that we read as little children in story books ( Pienkowski 24-63

Those story books , full of fantasies , witches , magic , love , hatred friendships and yet so helpful in making children learn some morals and ethics . If any one asks me now about what happened to Cinderella , or Snow white I will tell the entire tale like I read the story yesterday Although I haven 't heard of that story since I was a fifth grader . This very idea of me remembering the fairy tales even after so many years of not hearing it even once makes me wonder , how is it that I never forgot the story of the seven dwarfs or any other fairy tale ? Why do I still remember even the tiniest details of those stories ? May be it is the answer to these questions that will also answer what effect do they have on children , which is the why this is being written (Zipes , 5-19

There is no doubt that fairy tales have been a very important part of a school curriculum all over the world . These fairy tales are the same ones that I read in my books fifteen years ago and they are the same ones that my parents read when they were kids . Although these fairy tales have been passed on from generations to generations yet they have something very significant and important to share . These magical stories are shared with people all around the world . Children not only read it as part of their curriculum but also enjoy the happy endings . It is quite reasonable of the adults to be intrigued in what do the fairy tales have to offer and what impact do they have on the children .
