As a result what has been created is a culture of emulation wherein people dress like what they see on T .V . and in magazines , act the same way as their idols , develop systems of beliefs based on what they perceive to be the norm and finally go so far as to change their very bodies all in an effort to become what they perceive to be the way they should be as dictated by pop culture and the media .
