There were speculations during the early 2000s about the bursting of the housing bubble . This details the meaning of the term bubble and its applicability to the situation of the home building industry The authors have provided data on the current and projected

supply and demand for housing units in America which are both seen to be growing They , as well , have documented the general beliefs and insights of people regarding the industry , based on a survey conducted for this . The prices of homes in America are seen to be inelastic in relation to the demand and supply for it . The concludes that despite a possible drop in the demand for housing units , a similar drop in the prices is seen as unlikely . A comparison between the early 2000s and the late 1980s shows that while the latter resulted to a decline in the prices of housing units , the same is not expected to occur during the former

This was written in 2003 and it is a good reading material for those who endeavor to study the home building industry and the ongoing scenario therein vis-a-vis the equivalent in other industries
