Introduction

Industrial psychology is a branch of applied psychology , which deals with behaviours and attitudes related to work . It is also known as organizational psychology . Human behavior varies depending on the circumstances , and that too applies to the job environment . An industrial psychologist will be interested in evaluating how workers respond to different kinds of work environments . Reactions may include stress , increased happiness , motivation and resentment . The list of behavior patterns is

inexhaustible , but the important factor to remember is that these reactions must be toward the job and the job environment

In linking behavior to particular jobs and job environments , industrial psychologists provide a very important tool that can be used to measure and possibly improve the performance of workers . In addition to improving the output , its application can also lead to a general improvement in the general well-being of an organization 's workforce One should not however be deceived by this seemingly narrow definition to think that industrial psychology is a shallow subject . Its application is wide . Even the yellow and white markings on the road are deliberately designed like that because industrial psychologists found them to be easily noticeable to the drivers
