CNN is an international News network broadcasting all over the world Being a human resource manager with such a large media house requires the best skills and knowledge to perform the heavy duties that come together with this job . I believe that I am privileged to have in the ranks so far to manage all the work force in this organization

Personal Objectives and Goals

I still believe that I can do a lot better and more in the next five years . The following are the goals and objectives

concerning my career which I intend to have achieved after this period . First is to become entirely diverse in my daily roles with regard to the media industry and fully become conversant with regulations pertaining not only CNN but also other forms of electronic media such as radio and news management . Secondly , with a current work force of over one thousand , I intend to increase my capability of managing a larger number of personnel to a figure of over one thousand workers may be in another company . Thirdly , is to set up an online recruitment process through the organization website . This will ensure that the hectic process of interviewing , advertising and contacting potential labor force which costs the company a lot of money and resources is eliminated . Finally with the current extension program being undertaken by CNN management it will mean that the company is expected to expand to other countries all over the world . The problem that will arise from this is that there will be a factor of language barrier . My objective therefore is to at least learn five other different languages over the next five years

Measurement of the Achievement of These Objectives

It is not usually easy to measure ones achievement of his or her goals although it is possible to use a comparative figure (Gaiter , 2001 Actually , the management of CNN usually conducts an annual analysis concerning the performance of the company with human resources being a major factor . An improvement in the first year will therefore indicate that I have managed to develop the human resource section well Secondly , the numbers of languages I can read , write , and speak very well are only four in number . In the next five years , with hard work and determination , I will have improved this number to nine and this will have marked a step ahead in developing proper and efficient communication skills between my personnel and the management at large An annual study of the increase or decrease in the number of viewers attracted to the CNN is usually conducted and a difference noted . This although it will depend with a number of factors , it will centre on the management team of CNN which include my duty to manage all the labor force . A reduction in the cost of recruiting workers into this organization through the implementation of an online recruiting process is a measure of the effectiveness of that objective .
