The world over , health care costs are on the rise . This is partly due to lack of patient safety within health care institutions . The major cause of worry being the infections associated with health care (HCAI Healthcare associated infections (HCAI ) usually affect an average of 1 person in every 10 patients which results in further significant increase in patient illness mortality as well as costs

. However the infections are not limited to national bs but can sometimes spread across international boundaries like with such diseases like SARS and Ebola among others . As such it is imperatives for every state to take in to consideration the various measures that would help to control if not stop infection as well as other pandemic

Similarly other challenges that face the health care are the ageing society patient mobility as well as advancement within medical treatment among others (Burde H . 2002 . Health systems are continuously faced with numerous challenges as they integrate the ever developing technology as well as other major developments in medical science Albeit the health care agencies are basically the responsibility of the individual states cooperation at the national level has a great potential to offer benefits to the patients themselves , to the health care givers and the state as a whole

Healthcare infection has been a worldwide manifestation for health care givers and has drawn a lot of critism as well as concern to everyone Even though healthcare interventions are meant to offer patients better benefits sometimes it backfires and ends up causing more harm than intended (Committee on Data Standards for Patient safety , 2004

Within European community , infections relate to HCAI affect approximately 1in 10 patients annually (pg4 . In most cases the infection are normally difficult to cure as the ant microbial resistance as well as the fact that the ant microbial can not easily be eradicated from within the healthcare surrounding and as such is likely to spread to the surrounding community and internationally

In a particular way the HCAI is a product of the medical technology advances as well as treatment . There are various factors that are seen as catalysts and worryingly becoming a contributor to the growing number of infections within the health care environment . For instance when medical practioners used indwelling devices which usually breach the conventional defense mechanisms at a higher risk are patients who are on ant microbial chemotherapy tat alters the composition of the host flora as well as those patients who have immune defects evolving their ability to suppress infections . In addition such factors that include organizational as well as behavioral aspects lead to for instance , high bed occupancy , inadequate entry screening of patients , of patients , lack of compliance as concerns hard washing together with other hygienic practices by the healthcare staff . Issue like inappropriate medication and use of antibiotics are factors that are beyond healthcare givers
