These changes are prompted by different factors . Over all change in structure , composition and management of companies take place due to mergers and amalgamations . These mergers are of three kinds vertical , horizontal and cross mergers . The second kind of change occurs in an organization when a new product is launched to follow market skimming to earn Goodwill , money and

reputation in the market or to capture more market share based on lowering prices and enhancing quality . Another change happens in an organization when new leadership is inducted to increase productivity and improve on previous performance . This change may attract retaliations from staff members
Technological advancement and latest developments are other driving forces which lead to a change in an organization on account of changes in capital expenditure and result in complete change of structure
To implement the above changes , first and foremost element is that leadership in the organization must be respected and effective so that they can enforce the change process easily . Another imperative is that employees should be skilled to adapt themselves to the changed environment in to achieve the organizational goal
Thus , change is a complex phenomenon . Whenever new change is imposed on employees , there would be difficulties for them . It is because of this reason that employees must be responsive to the expectations required from them to carry out their jobs in a changed scenario . Skill has been defined in Encarta dictionary as ability to do something well , usually gained through training and experience ' Soft skills have been defined in different ways According to one definition soft skills is a set of skills that influence on how we interact with each other and it includes such skills as communication , creativity analysis , etc . Among the skills covered by the term soft skills , ability to communicate has been rated as most important one .
