Chapter 3 Methodology Introduction This chapter focuses mainly on the approaches used in conducting this research - specifically , the mixed methods approach . It tackles the use of the quantitative approach , for which a survey shall be administered adopting a descriptive research design . Moreover , it shall discuss the qualitative component of the mixed methods approach , where interviews with selected respondents shall be carried out . Secondly , it also aims to explain the reason for the convenience sampling and inclusion criteria that will be utilised in selecting the nurse respondents . Both primary and

secondary data collection methods are in the data collection section . The constructs covered in adapted instrument will also be presented . The method used in data analysis along with its limitations shall also be discussed
Research Design and Approach
In to explain why a mixed methods approach was used , the qualitative and quantitative approaches first have to be explained . The former is said to take long where data collection is concerned (de Vaus 2002 , and entails knowledge of the theories involved , formulation of study goals , access to primary data , and of course scouting for the proper respondents . A wide selection of sources may be utilised such as interviews , running records and even first hand observation (Patton 2002 . While it does have advantages , there may be difficulties encountered in the form of discrepancies in data analysis .
