p Pg .1 Humanities Humanities is meant by a group of academic united subjects to the studying of the human condition that generally prevents a single paradigm to define any discipline Humanities is usually distinguished from the social sciences , and natural sciences as well other subjects that include the languages , classics , literature , music philosophy , the performing arts , religion and lastly the visual arts . In some parts of the world subjects include archeology , area studies , communications , cultural studies , as well as history and are regarded as social sciences

p The study of humanities can be found back to Ancient Greece , as a basis of a
more broader education for citizens . The concept of the seven liberal arts in Roman
Times evolved involving liberal arts , grammar , rhetoric , and logic as well as arithmetic
geometry , astronomy , and music . These subjects forms the group of medieval education
with emphasis on the skills of way of doing ' During the Renaissance a major shirt
occurred when humanities began to be regarded as a legitimate subject that should be
studied rather than practiced as a corresponding shift from traditional fields into areas
as literature and history . The view of humanities , was challenged by postmodernist 's
movement in the 20th Century
The postmodernist 's sought out to change the definition of Humanities to more
equal terms suitable for a democracy . Humanities in American universities believe in the
idea of a more broader liberal arts education ' that emphasizes students studying
humanities along with their area of study . The traditional humanities /liberal arts degree
is criticized as being expensive and useless ' for a student 's preparation for the modern
American job market where years of specialized study , is required in many job markets

Politics in art has always had a habit of offending people as the artist tackles
explosive political issues , defying and challenging authority in their art . From Picasso 's
Guernica , one of history 's greatest anti-war protest , to Ivan Durrant 's dumping a
dead cow on the forecourt of the national Gallery of Victoria in 1975 which is the artists
ghastly protest against the Vietnam War . Artists argue that all art is political . The
numbers have been reinforced , rejected or made to be invisible
The discussion of class , in art is often the elephant in the room . The middle-
class , perhaps do not feel as if they should comment on the class structure where they
have a distinct advantage in terms of access . The working-class seem to have a lack of
Entitlement ' There is an unconscious voice that underlies working class 's exclusion
from the arts . The defining characteristic is usually blamed on a lack of education
Technology in art is rendered visually by using computers and digital arts
Politics in music is common . It is a way for the artist to express their political
