Human beings are equally born with inalienable rights . These undeniable rights allow people to pursue lives of dignity accordingly , no government can bequeath them , but rather all governments should guard them . Persons are all in the same way entitled to human rights without discrimination . Liberty built on a foundation of respect , dignity tolerance , and justice regardless of social standing , political association , religion , or ethnicity allows people to purse these basic rights . Nevertheless , freedom of expression and speech particularly concerning political and other public matters , is the lifeblood of every democracy . Such freedom is one of the most basic rights that every person enjoys . Democratic governments do not have power over the substance of most verbal and written speech . That is why democracies are generally filled with several voices conveying diverse or even contrary opinions and ideas .
