Introduction

The human resource is one of the departments in the organizations hence through properly incorporating the human resource department can lead to effective personnel and the realization of the organizational goals . The human resource in this case is seen to have so many functions in relation to the organizational functions and one of the roles of the HRM is to examine recruitment and selection of new employees to work in that company or even to promote employees in relevance to their track record or even their past performance when running that

particular organization . It is the role of HRM to ensure that recruitment has been done correctly by putting in to considerations the applicants skills and the experience one has in that particular field . In case of promotions workers are seen to be promoted in accordance to their performance in that particular department . But you tend to find that there are so many case of workers been discriminated out of their age , gender , race among other factors in which these workers have been discriminated in . It is the role of the HRM to ensure that these workers have been short listed in accordance to their track record but not to discriminate some individuals when there are open vacancies and these people can fit in As from the case , you find that people are usually discriminated usually based on their gender , age , and race . This is one of the most areas which be addressed since you find that in most of the organizations people are usually discriminated simply because they are seen to be quite old and they want young enthusiastic men and women to take those position forgeti8ng the qualifications these people have (Dessler Lloyd-Walker , 2004 , pp 69-24

Case study

This case clearly explains how people have been discriminated in many working places simply because they are old . Age is seen as one of the forms by which people are discriminated . You find that people are usually discriminated since many people tend to believe that the aged are usually ineffective just forgetting the skills these people already have . For the case of Stella , we are told that she has been working in the government department for quite along time meaning that she has more experience an also needs to be promoted for the senior departmental opening . This case tells us that Stella had the potentials to work in that department simply because when she applied for the same vacancy which was interstate , we see that she was offered the age . This clearly tells us that the age doesn 't even matter nor gender but what should be considered is the person 's qualifications for that particular case . When Stella compared herself with the rest of the people who had been short listed for that particular post , we find that they were all young gentlemen . This clearly shows that Stella had been overlooked simply because she is a lady and she was abit old forgetting the skills this particular lady...
