The overall goals and objectives of the field or industry of human services are geared towards identifying the needs , demands , and concerns of human beings in to structure or establish ways in which these needs , demands , and concerns are to be addressed in the most efficient and appropriate manner . Human services cover a broad perspective in handling the industry 's roles and responsibilities . First , it is able to initiate tasks , programs , and

activities to address identified human needs , demands , and concerns by relying on the procurement or accumulation of knowledge or information . Second , it also establishes tasks , programs , and activities that are intended to prevent the occurrence of human problems or remediate the effects and outcomes for unavoidable circumstances that aggravate unfortunate cases or situations that greatly affect human life . Third , the field of human services relies on the knowledge , skills , and competencies of its work force in to carry out the tasks , roles , and responsibilities that are needed to serve the community ( About Human Services ' 2007 ) With this in mind , the remainder of the text will focus on identifying a significant human service position and gathering information about it in to determine the particular roles and responsibilities that the position requires to fulfill the goals and objectives of human services as a field or industry
